Question: What is a grudge?

Answer: A grudge is a form of memory, a way to remember a situation or a person in a negative light. It serves as a reminder not to go down that path again. People who hold grudges are usually known for repeatedly falling into the same unpleasant situations, and a grudge serves them as a warning: "Do not cross." It can be unpleasant if it burdens us, so we need to find a different way to remember, such as a journal or a list of past experiences. Anything that is written in our character.

Usually, a grudge is not a negative trait, as it serves as a redirection. It is needed more for the mind than for the soul. The soul remembers things, but we do not want to. It is good to explore what attracts us again to a situation that we know did not work out. The problem with a grudge is that it does not necessarily solve the problem. We can repeat the same unpleasant path with other people, even though we "held a grudge" against the original ones. Here we might ask ourselves, why?

Patterns are usually not random. Patterns in anything are a sign that we have not learned something from the original situation and that there is still something to explore, to discover about ourselves. Situations are supposed to develop us, not patterns. We want to discover new parts of ourselves, not the same ones over and over again. That’s how it is.
